This is going to be an amazing quilt!
I bet you've been thinking about how your going to quilt it... I get obsessed and think about it so much while I'm doing the last bit of piecing!Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12967285401217676477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4554973006988114505.post-18729453754964606612009-06-29T12:56:36.571-07:002009-06-29T12:56:36.571-07:00I agree with Erin, I like the simpler version (and...I agree with Erin, I like the simpler version (and then you could keep your yard of gnomes)!!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13270732362514142999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4554973006988114505.post-62528028755757920232009-06-29T09:10:24.226-07:002009-06-29T09:10:24.226-07:00Instead of stripes, how about using all white so t...Instead of stripes, how about using all white so that it looks like you are "framing" the strip with the three blocks. It's less distracting to the eye and would make the middle strip pop. You are such a good friend to not only hand make a quilt but also give up the gnome fabric for her!Mushyhedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00579121359276464576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4554973006988114505.post-17094309153419952222009-06-29T08:19:13.122-07:002009-06-29T08:19:13.122-07:00love itlove itAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10580743027184050061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4554973006988114505.post-52095647235551290612009-06-29T08:00:55.174-07:002009-06-29T08:00:55.174-07:00I'd hate for her to go to the trouble of buyin...I'd hate for her to go to the trouble of buying more gnomes, but I prefer the simplicity of the design without the stripes.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16123210621764248328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4554973006988114505.post-17650890981094824262009-06-29T07:44:57.575-07:002009-06-29T07:44:57.575-07:00This quilt is beautiful. All your options would work for the back.

I've also created a large center square (e.g. gnome fabric) and then place very wide borders around it, to "size up" for backing. Not sure if this would save you a trip to get more fabric, but feasibly you could use your gnome fabric as a center rectangle or put some other fabric in the center frame and use the gnome on the outside (very wide border).

Keep us posted on what you do.

SewCalGal
www.sewcalgal.blogspot.comSewCalGalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02062059207544865569noreply@blogger.com
